Diamond Select Toys Ghostbusters Slimer Bank Review

We reviewed the Stay Puft Bank from DST last summer, and that thing was a beauty.  A great scale next to the Minimates too!  And of course DST graced us fans with a con variant featuring angry Stay Puft.  The latest bank to come out of the DST camp is Slimer.  He could be seen on shelves at Toys R’ Us over Xmas (though he quickly sold out at my local stores) and of course, online.

I tend to let images do the talking with toys.   I’m a very positive fan, I’m not looking to complain, I’m hoping to be satisfied.  That being said, Slimer is a work of art.  It is the single best sculpt of Slimer to be released EVER.   This bank serves as a fantastic replica of the movie Slimer and really does the spud justice.  The scale is very large (see the scale pic below) and the detail is phenominal.  You can basically buy a high-quality Ghostbusters movie statue/bust for less than $20!  Thanks DST (and give us some terror dog banks!)

You can buy him online at Amazon.com, Entertainment Earth and at Toys ‘R Us stores!

Indiana Jones Lego

Click the Above Title to read the Full Story....

We spoke a few weeks ago about Star Wars Lego.  I’d like to take a moment to discuss another huge property that was undertaken by the fine folks at Lego…Indiana Jones!  Indiana Jones Lego has been handled much in the same way as Star Wars Lego, it has gotten both deluxe sets and the video games on systems like the Wii, XBox 360, Playstation 2, etc.

The recent Indiana Jones film didn’t go over that well with fans, but the great thing about Indiana Jones Lego is that they’re timeless.  They represent the entire franchise, rather than one specific film, so any fan of the franchise can get into them.

Will there be more Indiana Jones Lego in the future?  Its hard to say.  If they make more Indy films, then you can count on it!

Serena Williams

Serena Williams
Serena Jameka Williams (born September 26, 1981) is an American professional tennis player and current World Number 1. She has been ranked World Number 1 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) on five separate occasions. She regained this ranking for the fifth time in her career on the 2 November 2009. She is the reigning champion in both singles and women's doubles at the Australian Open and Wimbledon and in doubles at the US Open. In total, she has won 23 Grand Slam titles: 11 in singles, ten in women's doubles and two in mixed doubles. In addition, she has won two Olympic gold medals in women's doubles. She also has won more Grand Slam titles than any other active female player and has won more career prize money than any other female athlete in history. In 2005, Tennis Magazine ranked her as the 17th-best player in 40 years.
Williams reached the top ten on the WTA world rankings for the first time in 1999 when she won several tournaments, including her first Grand Slam victory at the US Open at the age of 17. Between 2002 and 2003, Williams won five of the six Grand Slam events she entered, becoming the fifth woman in history to hold all four Grand Slam titles simultaneously. She became the World Number 1 for the first time in July 2002.
Williams' domination of the sport came to an abrupt end in mid-2003 when she had surgery to repair a partial tear in a knee tendon. Upon her return to the sport in 2004, her results were noticeably less consistent than previously. In early 2005, she won her first Grand Slam title in 18 months at the Australian Open, but a string of injuries then limited her to competing in just 13 events in the two years that followed, winning none of them. Her standing in the world rankings suffered as a result, the nadir being World Number 140 in July 2006, leading to widespread speculation that she had passed her peak. Williams, however, eventually won another Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in 2007, despite being ranked World Number 81 at the time. Williams returned to the top ten later that year and has since competed in every Grand Slam event. She became the World Number 1 for the first time in five years in September 2008.

Williams is the younger sister of fellow former World Number 1 professional female tennis player Venus Williams. The sisters have played each other in 23 professional matches dating back to 1998, with Serena winning 13 matches played between them as of October 2009. Their meeting in the final of the 2001 US Open was the first Grand Slam final contested by two sisters in the open era. As of July 2009, they have met in eight Grand Slam finals, with Serena winning six of those. Between the 2002 French Open and the 2003 Australian Open, the sisters met in all four Grand Slam finals, the first time in the open era that the same two players had contested four consecutive Grand Slam finals. The pair regularly team to play doubles, proving highly successful, having won 10 Grand Slam titles together.

Currently the World No. 1, he is the highest-paid professional athlete in 2008, having earned an estimated $110 million from winnings and endorsements.
Woods has won 14 professional major golf championships, the second highest of any male player, and 71 PGA Tour events, third all time. Woods has won 16 World Golf Championships and has won at least one event each of the 11 years they have been in existence.

He has been named Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year a record-tying four times, and is the only person to be named Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year more than once.
Since his record-breaking win at the 1997 Masters Tournament, golf's increased popularity is attributed to Woods' presence. He is credited for dramatically increasing prize money in golf, generating interest in new audiences as the first non-white person to win the Masters, and for drawing the largest TV audiences in golf history. Nick Lars Heidfeld

Nick Lars Heidfeld

Nick Lars Heidfeld (born May 10, 1977 in Mönchengladbach, West Germany) is a German Formula One racing driver.
Despite his recent success, Heidfeld is yet to win a race during his ten seasons in Formula One. This means that amongst the current drivers, he has had the most GP starts without standing at the top spot on the podium. Heidfeld has now started over 150 races, so if he were to eventually win a race he would break the record for most starts before a maiden victory. This is currently held by Mark Webber, who claimed his first victory on his 131st attempt. Heidfeld also currently holds three other dubious records; he is the driver who has scored the highest number of world championship points without a Grand Prix win, shares the record for the most podium finishes without a Grand Prix win with Stefan Johansson, and has the most second place finishes without a win, with 8. He also holds the record for the most consecutive race classifications with a tally of 41, as well as the most finishes in a season when he finished all 18 races in the 2008 season.

Giancarlo Fisichella

Giancarlo Fisichella Image
Giancarlo Fisichella (born January 14, 1973 in Rome, Italy), also known as Fisico, Giano or Fisi, is an Italian racing driver. He has driven in Formula One for Minardi, Jordan, Benetton, Sauber, Renault, Force India and is currently driving for Ferrari in place of the injured Felipe Massa. He will also be Ferrari's reserve driver for 2010.
Fisichella has won three races in his career to date, the first of which was at the chaotic 2003 Brazilian Grand Prix, a race abandoned for safety reasons with 15 laps remaining. After much confusion regarding rules and technicalities (which lasted for several days) Fisichella was eventually declared the winner in the following week, and collected his trophy in an unorthodox ceremony at the following race. He was brought in to the Renault team to replace fellow Italian Jarno Trulli, and won his first race with the team in Australia in 2005. However, after that race it was his team-mate, the Spanish driver Fernando Alonso, that would win the greater share of races for Renault. Although highly rated as a driver, Fisichella was unable to keep pace with eventual champion Alonso, managing just one further race win since his debut. Outside of driving, he has backed his own GP2 team, FMS International.
Fisichella has two children, Carlotta and Christopher, with his longtime domestic partner Luna Castellani (a former Italian showgirl). The couple were married on October 10, 2009.
