Mezco to make 'Kick-Ass' Figures and Merch...

“Kick-Ass”, the action-adventure movie from Lionsgate and Matthew Vaughn, is a twisted high-octane adventure that redefines the “super hero” genre, based on the popular comic by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.

Kick-Ass, a.k.a. Dave Lizewski is an average teenager and avid comic-book fan, who decides to become a real-life superhero, Kick-Ass! With no actual super powers, his life is forever changed as he encounters the violent, real-crime world of common thugs, drug lords and underworld mobsters.

Kick-Ass 1/12 scale 6” action figure that captures the essence of “Kick-Ass” armed with two billy-clubs, and wearing signature suit and mask.

Hit-Girl, a.k.a. Mindy Mc Cready is an 11 year-old pig-tailing wearing waif with the fighting skills of a ninja. This little super hero proves she has some real kick- ass skills.

The 1/12 Scale action figure features Hit-Girl in her signature plaid skirt, purple wig and cape. Armed with a pair of butterfly knives, and her double Gitano bladed mindy stick.

Ships October 2010.

Mezco will also be offering a plethora of related Kick-Ass merchandise, from magnet sets and water bottles to sticker sheets and shot glasses. Look for them in finer retailers when the film hits theaters on April 16th, 2010.

About the CD: Out of the rabbit hole from Wonderland comes 15 NEW tracks from today's MADdest artists. Almost Alice features a unique collection of today's favorite alternative artists and the next round of superstars bubbling up from the underground. This is a companion piece to Danny Elfman's soundtrack score. Modern rock and alternative artists have long been inspired by the classic Alice in Wonderland tale and the cultural impact of Tim Burton. Almost Alice is the musical expression of those influences.

Our Take:  We're really mixed on our feelings for this soundtrack.  The Danny Elfman score was a home-run, but this one is hit and miss.  It features great performances inspired by the movie from a few bands like Franz Ferdinand Robert Smith.  The soundtrack also features what is, in our opinions, horrible music.  Low points include tracks from Owl City, Wolfmother and Avril Lavigne.  To be fair, we're not fans of their normal music either.

This CD is great for collectible purposes, but only about half of it is audible.  The other half can be used to drive away unwanted neighbors or attract stray dogs!

Our Take: This soundtrack is classic Elfman.  We've been fans of Danny since the Oingo Boingo years and to see him develop into this amazing composer has been a real treat.  His work with Tim Burton has become legendary, so when we heard of his score for Alice in Wonderland, we just couldn't resist checking it out.  It is absolutely everything you'd hope it could be.  This CD is a MUST OWN!

Designed by Barbie designer Robert Best, the "Mad Men" Barbie doll line features key players from the Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency: creative director and leading man Don Draper; his wife Betty Draper; Sterling Cooper partner Roger Sterling; and bombshell office manager Joan Holloway. Today's announcement marks the first licensed doll line in the Barbie Fashion Model Collection, a signature silkstone collection within the Barbie brand known for featuring couture quality fashions and accessories.

The "Mad Men" Barbie Collector doll collection embodies the "Mad Men" series' couture fashions and accessories, and its iconic 1960s style and aesthetic. The series, which is produced by Lionsgate and airs on AMC, has made history with its multiple Emmy and Golden Globe Awards by chronicling the lives of the men and women of Madison Avenue advertising in the 1960s.  Season four of "Mad Men" premieres this summer.

There are going to be two different versions of the Sgt. Slaughter 3.75-inch figure – a primary figure (PF) and variant figure (VF), sold separately.
 

Re: accessories, both the PF and VF will come with a whistle and a non-removable hat. 

The PF also comes with a weight belt, baton, and microphone; the VF also comes with a machine gun and revolver.
 

There is the potential for the PF and VF to be sold online at HasbroToyShop.com following SDCC, but that is not guaranteed based on the “special edition” nature of the PF and the “special SPECIAL edition” nature of the VF.
